series 1 brakes/austin gipsy ?

hi dous any1 know if early series have a simalar brakes to austin gipsy,as i have just got a gipsy to restore which has ne brakes etc

I don't know, but I'd be interested to see some photos of the Gipsy.

Rover & Austin (by then part of BMC) were totally independent companies, so no reason why they should.
Mind you those were the days when a manufacturer would go to someone like Lockhead and by off the shelf parts from them, so you never know.

No they will be totaly diferant, they will be the same as the j2/j4 van and perhaps the oxford

If it helps, have a look out for Austin Champ parts. These were in production around the same time.

I had one yonks back.

A tad belated, but I used Series brake cylinders on a MKII. Don't know offhand what difference there is between the MKI and MKII, but I would assume they would use similar components in that area. As to the brake shoes themselves, I honestly couldn't say.
