wow so this post was back in 2014 , the trailer project got parked as we thought it would be sensible two adopt two kids instead. that ruined a good few years. However I have made some progress. To be fair I only started it this year.

Also start to make progress on the pull out kitchen.

I ended up following advice and buying a sankey to build from, I extended the chassis and moved the Axle back to increase the overall length.
Still load to do but it thought I would share this , next step is to build the lifting mechanism. I want everything above the top to lift up about the same height as the side panel so I get increase the room inside , planning on fitting a double bed two single's in the roof and a table with seats in the tub area.

That's an option , or might consider building a myself although I'm nit sure on the rules on road worthy ness ect. Lots to consider.

If the axle you use has had brakes fitted they must work as made you can not modifiy them...even if trailer is under 750KG...

Interesting , so I have extended the rod mechanism from front to back to allow for the extra chassis length and flipped the overrun devices to below the chassis. I guess the only modification is the handbrake which I have cut off and re-welded on the top as everything is upside down now. I will be a dying a cable so it pulls the handbrake on if the tow hitch separates. I think I could argue that the breaking mechanism is as made ?

I knew there would be some risk and debate in this which means I may need to rework some things, will try and get some VOSA confirmation at some point, its not completely clear if I need to get an IVA done.

My reply was refering to your original build of trailer using 90 parts...you cant for example due to EU rules tow a car on an A-Frame as its brakes dont operate...I have a Smart which is on the 750KG mark but cant tow it due to hydraulic brakes not functioning there is a system i'm looking at to see if it meets the regs...
