We are looking to sell our Defender 90 with 165,000 miles on the clock, MOT on it for a year, has anyone any idea how much we should be looking for it?

You need 50 posts to sell on here. Someone might p.m you tho

We can help value but be aware forum members tend to know true values, not what you see them advertised for. As it goes, have a look on ebay at similar age/mileage/condition but filter by completed and sold items to see what people are actually paying for defenders.

You'll need to put lots of pics on here to get people to give opinions on value. Interior, exterior - especially underneath and behind rear crossmember. Bulkhead and floors, seatboxes and door frames etc etc

Year, engine and trim level all help

Condition counts more than mileage with defenders

Any service/repair history? Provide reg for mot history please and where you are in the country can have a big impact on how much someone's willing to part with

Thank you, will do that. It is quite old, 2006 but my husband is still using it every day for work, been regularly MOT'd and runs well. We are in Perthshire. Will try and get some pics sorted out and get it up for sale, was just really what to ask for it so maybe I will get an idea by looking at Ebay. Thanks for your help.

Perthshire, road salt, rotten as a pear! :p

Give you a Curly Wurly and a packet of prawn cocktail crisps, but only because I don't like prawn cocktail! :D

Give us the Reg for now so we can snoop thru your MOT history

Do the same as most Defender owners looking to advertise & sell .......think of a price and double it, then gradually lower to the original price over the following weeks.

£500 ffs.. why are people so lazy and want others to answer questions they can find on their own..???

That locations will reduce the price as smaller audience that is local and further to travel for anyone who is not.
But then again it is farming country, so no shortage of Landy drivers around here.
The high water levels on the back roads are a good Defender selling point at the moment
ULEZ just might be a bigger isue.
:(

Theres been a few recently hasn't there? I think sometimes there's an element of chancing their arm that someone on here will have an interest in buying tbh. Kinda advertise theyve got one for sale without having to get to 50 posts and contribute

That is not actually what I was doing, I genuinely didn't know what it was worth.

The thing is the members will get sarcastic when something like this comes along.

But even in amongst the sarcasm there is advice.

As I said earlier 2006 is not old and most here would rather rely on condition than year. So that's the reason to ask for pics, and most of us are not too bothered about it being a bit battered on the top (best not to have been in a banger race but you get the gist).

If you can get round the fact we are land rover nuts with knowledge (well most of us) but the fact you come here to ask advice to get rid of your LR and will probably never come back again ;).

So put some decent pics up and the MOT history, if you don't want to give the reg. Be honest in condition.

You also have to remember many will pick holes in the LR and point out the bad bits, that "joe public" who wants a defender will not see.

Plus we have all saved our curly whirlys for just such an occasion, Jelly babies (but without the black 1s) will be on offer too soon.

what ever you do dont sell on ebay, unless you want 500 scammers turning up at your door.

Surely you can compare like for like across Facebook, auto trader, eBay etc. that’ll give you a ball park figure. Just up or down your price accordingly.
That's quite difficult on Ebay because half of them are scams.
But essentially that's all you can do.
To the OP, no one on here can help without proper details I'm afraid.
