:(The wife's Disco 2('04 TD5) is a non-starter. I was in a hurry yesterday, started it, reversed quickly and stalled it after about 10- yards. Since then it won't start with the following christmas lights whilst turning it over.

- self levelling yellow
- "off-road" light
- after a couple of tries the HDC light flashes, the TC and ABS yellow light come on and I get the three chimes

My attempts to start it yesterday flattened the battery, so when I tried it this morning it was fully charged. However, I am told that the dealer said she probably needed a new battery soon back in October......it still has the original.

I am 80% sure that there is nothing wrong here and that we have just pssed off the ECU with bad battery/ aggressive start stall. I am going to get a new battery, but is there anything I can do to confirm and clear all this?

I just tried the ignition on for 5 mins and then 5 pumps on the accelerator mentioned in the ACE thread. Lights still came on, but it started eventually, was lumpy far a few seconds and now works fine. The oddest thing.

I am now going to take these features off the disco and replace them with the ones from the Defender which work without an ECU:

Hill descent: low gear, feet off, go down the hill
Self levelling suspension: eat pies for fat ars then lean if you need to
Traction control: control traction by driving properly

Sounds good plan my 200 disco works well with them methods lol:cool:
