select manual & flashing lights ??????????

:welcome2: hi lads , just a follow up to my long time problem re select manual and flashing lights !!!!!! as per previous threads the problem keeps reoccurring , the message on dash and lights on h plate are intermittent ????? they disappear for days and for no known reason come back !!!!! right as a process of elimination the becm is fine -the ems is fine-the transfer box ecu is fine -now as a coincidence ive noticed that when the message is on dash and h block lites are flashing ,the indicators flash when on left or right BUT theres no clicking from the indicator ie repeater sound ?????????????? but works fine when dash message and lights have disappeared !!!!! any thoughts or has this happened to anyone else on here ?????????????? its driving me mad to resolve any help greatly appreciated .i.e. any top auto-electricians with p38 expierence ?????? cheers mozz............... wammers suggest earth connection ????????? :):)

Have looked at RAVE Mozz. There are no common Earth points that i can see. So the broken wire scenario seems favourite but finding it could be a bloody nightmare. :)
 
mozz id be looking at wireing failure behind drivers kick panel or under the drivers door carpet to sill cover thats where ive had most probs in the past,ended up chopping and soldering a new section of loom in the end to solve the prob(wires were boken but looked fine),only a suggestion & not putting money on it either

+1, the channel under the floor panel by the drivers door had a selection of surplus screws chewing the wiring on mine obviously left over in production.
 
thanks will and datatek , have already checked both sides out when I took becm out ,, both sided bone dry and clean of debris all connections checked and ok ,so ruled them out but thanks anyway ,,every bit helps cheers mozz
 
hi lads , after a long long hard road, I finally got a RESULT !!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D
BIG JACK alias "" WILLY "" at EMMOTTS OF COLNE did a fantastic job ( as they always do ) on diagnosing the problem was the wiring loom which is one of six on the p38 .so
the big fella stripped everything down at the mid section i.e. h box -xyz motor - ratio control motor -ecu ,etc etc etc replaced the loom and BINGO :D:D:D:D also did a brill job with sorting 4 other problems not related ,,, well im super chuffed THIS had been going on since last august ?????? ,,as ive said in the past cant praise them enough !!!!!!!!! there so GOOD at what they do . and a super family run firm , even the gaffer joe was impressed with big willy !!!!!!! ha ha ha , so all you lads thup in north if you have problems get to emmotts !!!!!!!!! would also like to say a big thanks to datatek and wammers for their experienced input pointing in the right direction top lads those two many thanks ,back to EMMOTTS I cant fault them in anyway and highly recommend them make sure you pay them a visit because not only do they supply spares all over the world with s/h landrover products and 1st class prices , they also do full diagnostics / servicing / air con re gas /repairs etc etc etc give them a ring NOW !!!!!!!! DONT order the soup cos jess is back !!!!!! ha ha ha . great to see her back,
