Hi all

So i was under the landy last night having abit of look around whilst waiting for some sealant to dry and seems i have lost the drain plug that you should put in when in muddy conditions and wading.

I think it must have been lost at muddy bottom last time i was there, been nowhere since, anyone who knows what muddy bottom is like........

what kinda damage am i looking at or is it a case of fingers crossed and see what happens?

I was under the impression that you don't normally have the wading/drain plug in the bottom of the clutch housing, when in normal road use anyway, as defeats the object! Just something you screw in when you know your gonna be in deep water/mud. Correct me if I'm wrong as mine has the plug in and I can't get the sod out (may as well be welded in) and I don't go off road so am gonna drill it out so it can go back to being what it was meant to be "a drain plug hole".

Yes no plug in a v8.Unlikley you have done any damage its just that a wet clutch may slip some and if it was a grit carring gloop extra wear may happen.

Cheers tottot,

Just really didnt wana have to pull the engine fromt he box as i havent done that type of thing yet. Wear i can deal with.

Hawk... could of corroded on, somthing is already inside, your right could drill it.
