Thinking of replacing my low back second row seats with a couple of high back seats left and right, possibly leaving the middle open. Has anyone done this and have pictures? Its a 110 SW.

Would a pair of standard front seats fit? You could fit two of those and a central cubby box for the 2nd row passengers to store odds and ends. They'd recline too :)

Thanks. I had thought about that. Would just like to see a few pictures.

Might just take the old seats out and see what it looks like. Pity about the frame. Stupidly hadn't thought of that.

Hi,

Iv just taken all my high back exmore seats out of my 110csw. The fronts are as squad standard and would need an additional frame to fit in the rear. The three rear ones are all on pivot points on the front and sit back on support plates, with clicks to hold them in place.

Iv taken all the seats, mounting brackets, frame clips etc out ready to sell.

In their place iv fitted a full set of seats taken from a VW passat. The fronts are a bit tight but lovely to sit in.

The rear seats are a perfect width. They have a 70/30 split. The two out main seats are slightly wider and closer together making the middle seat just a as and when needed option just like many rear cars seats today.

Iv made a frame so that the bottom cushion sits in, the frame is the same hight as the old seats and lifts up so I can get under them to use as storage. The backs I made another frame for the to pivot back against and lock into position just as the would in the passat. The backs can now be folded forward allowing me to put long items all the way through.

Iv seen loads of defenders with range rover seats fitted but to do that you need to cut the rear wheel arches on the tub and modify them. My frame had a hing system that attached to the rear wheel arches via bolting them in. This way iv not had to cut anything thus meaning if I ever want to convert back I could just bolt everything back I to place.

The best advice I can give is to just keep it simple. I paid £45 for my full set of seats, a bit if box section to make the frame and two days making them.

If defo do it again.
