Is it just me or is the price of otherwise average off road vehicles gone nuts?

Im away work work quite a lot and I dont keep track of prices etc but was looking this week and couldnt believe it.

is it a good time to consider selling my defender?? Im not using it as much as I used to.
 
Welcome back to the zoo ranch pilgrim. As for selling the stead you will need to post over 50 to get a snifter. Today prices are false marketing because having an older model getting rarer emphasize it durability. Same vehicle at time of purchase would have had dozen to pick cheap a few years later. The modern version defender is a tarts number for London clique.

I met one of the designers of the new LR Model. Myself and another defender driver couldnt help ourselves so we told him exactly what we thought ... This..^^^

not a defender.

I only drive working vehiicles but it seems a working vehicle price is even out of reach

Car dealer down the road from me, spoke to him the other day and he said he no longer gives anything off the price as he has a real job replacing the stock once sold, so the price is the price end of.
Vans seem to have gone silly.
Boats have gone mad, literally nothing left (especially 30 to 40 ft) to buy anywhere, what is left is the utter dross.

thats a bit like housing market too !

As @marjon , don't sell the Landy. Unless you need the money, give it a good service and a thorough all over clean up, then wrap it up and lock away for a rainy day and/or when you're ready to drive her again. Land Rover prices are not going to drop.

Although many are perplexed/hacked off with high Landy prices, the reality is that they are no longer made, they are fashionable across many markets irrespective of condition and therefore, have proper value.

We have seen the same thing happen within the classic car market since 2008. Some sectors have eased off, with many folk predicting a market crash, but there's been no market crash and prices are as strong as ever.
 
eta: just seen your other post where you describe your truck as "needs a new door and absolutely honking..."!! :confused:

Why let a vehicle get in such a poor condition?

Im probably at the stage where xircumstances require me to sell-I dont have space for a spare vehicle not used as often as Id like.
 
Its a shame to sell, If you think you will want another in the future.
But if present conditions mean it has to happen, sorry to hear.

Do you not have a friendly farmer with a space in a barn for a while?

Good luck if you decide to sell and it wont take long if the price is fair.
But dont come back in 2 years complaining about the current price of them:D;)
