But Me cyrstal ball is at the other end of the pikey wagon. So be a good chap and try telling peeps what vehicle you want this battery fitting into, and what you mean by 12v Ports??? and what yu intend to plug into these ports.

discovery 2 td5 and i was thinking of also installing an 240v inverter for normal sockets but not sure if it would drain the battery too quickly so i think so just like cigarette ports or usb ports that kind of thing no big appliances just for charging phones/cameras that kind of thing, however if a 240v inverter can be put in that would be for my mrs straighteners...

For charging phones/iPads etc just get a decent dual USB socket such as the Blue Sea one.
The Blue Sea one has a max output of 2.1 amps which is enough to charge an iPad even if using energy hungry mapping applications. OK only slowly if using mapping etc.
Leisure batteries are designed to give low current outputs over long period of times. Cheap invertors are not exactly energy efficient!
Hair straightners can draw 300 watts at 240 volts.
Call it 360 watts allowing for energy losses etc that means a current draw of 30 amps.
Choices are £20-25 for a decent Blue Sea dual USB outlet or to straighten wifes hair
Leisure battery at say £100, semi decent invertor at £150, fuse box, cables, brackets etc say £50 or a wife with curly hair??

I think We shall go with curly hair, unless she wants to fork out the money to get it done! I suppose an adapter is ok however for a long trip (3months) splitting the draw current will be a nightmare if we've got 2 phones, an IPad, camera, sat nav and in car camera to charge! Especially since the camera always needs to be plugged in and sat nav is pretty much the same, is it easy and cheap enough to just install a second and maybe a third 12v lighter port that runs straight from the fuse box?
If camera and sat nav need to be on charge permanently then there is something wrong with them.
A fully charged iPad will do a mapping application for about 6 hours before needing recharging.
A fully charged hyper juice battery will recharge your iPad at least twice and give you about 18 hours of mapping application
A couple of extra USB or 12 volt sockets with a decent fuse box and appropriate fuses will do the job at a fraction of the cost of a leisure battery and invertor.

Gas/rechargable straighteners are cheaper 
300W for striaghteners, thems must be big uns, the wifes got 2 pairs, one 70W (some babyliss ceramic things) and one 120W (the wet2straight thingys)

There is a good write up on the Discovery2 forum detailing how to install a second battery. The best bet is to get a second battery tray which fits on the n/s near the bulkhead and run the leads around the back of the engine. You need a split charger but it only takes a couple of hours to install. Ive got it on my D2 and if you want any pictures let me know.

You're right the satnav is absolute **** and needs charging constantly and the car journey recorder camera works when you put the key in the ignition so does actually always need to be plugged in! So after thought I'm going to go With simply installing one or two extra 12v ports! So can anyone near manchester install them?
