Hey guys!
I've decided that I'd like a soft top in the summer and a hardtop in the winter on my series 3.
The only trouble is that I've no idea where to mount the seatbelts.
Any suggestions would be useful, Thanks in advance!

The seat belts in mine were fitted to the bulkhead behind the seat, they fitted "over the shoulder" without the usual angle bracket. I'm not sure of the legality but the inertia reel worked, and it never failed an MOT.

X1 on legality. I'd like to do the same. The Exmoor kit looks sound but I'd be worried about switching back to hard top. The original fitting for truck cab's attached to the bulkhead behind the door but useless for a soft top. Back in the day nae seat belts anyway. Mine are attached to the tub and also go over the shoulder. Would like to think it is legal for a soft top. I've got the whole original hood and sticks. Remember you need to fit the cleats' etc. to tie down at the corners. If you go to Huddersfield Landy online gallery the shots show the Exmoor fitting and all fixings. Can't believe the prices they advertise . £20k for a rebuilt swb soft top☹ . Nice landys though.

I run mine as a truck cab in the winter and a soft top in the summer, in both instances I have the seatbelts (static belts, not inertia reels) mounted to the bulkhead. Never had an issue with MOTs but I try not the think about their shoulder snapping potential being mounted so low should I ever have a crash.

I was made to change to inertia type for the MOT. Clearly open to interpretation.

Sounds wrong to me, mine was fitted with static belts from that factory so that's all it should be required to have for it's MOT. It never used to have a middle seat belt so I bought a third static three point belt and installed that, again no issues with MOT.
