seat box removal.

Just a quicky, never taken one out before but would make life easier to put back G&T box, also to paint up chassis and sort out brake pipes. How long roughly to take it out? easy? Do i have to remove seats or can it come out in one lump? Cheers.

Easier without the seats for me, there are screws/nuts n bolts around the floor perimeter and along the rear edge, floors and seat belts have to come out too, depending on age of truck and how rusty tue bolts are will determine how long it takes. Its really quite straightforward. Expect to have to introduce an angle grinder into the equation, to cut the screw/bolt heads off.

Forgot, the handbrake comes out too....

Rebuild, been there, great fun, frustrating, over budget, but got the truck I always wanted in my colour choice...

No real problem taking it out but then again I rebuilt mine using SS fixings 14-years ago so when I removed the seatbox last year it all came apart beautifully.
Take seats out first, you will only be making life harder for yourself trying to get behind them.

Depending on how thorough you are when you clean the underside of your vehicle, you might be surprised at the amount of crud (and corrosion) you find when it is all on show. Be prepared to do a bit more work than you initially intended doing. That said, perfect opportunity to get it all clean and make sure nothing needs attention in the future. Amongst other jobs, while it was off I removed the battery-box, seat-belt & fuel-tank brackets etc and had them all galvanised.

When i picked it up from the farm i gave it a thorough jet wash underneath and got a couple of buckets of mud from it. Then the other day i took off the floor pans and you wouldnt believe the amount of mud i found untouched on the front outrigger. So yes, its coming out.
