Can someone post a pic of where the buckles mount on a Series 3?
I got a set of belts from the breakers when I got a load of other parts but I cant see how the buckles will bolt on. I thought they bolted through the front of the bulkhead and onto the chassis but the buckles foul the lip. It might be I have the wrong buckles as they were not attatched to the vehicle although I did get the reels off the same car and they fit ok. I also have the top brackets for the hard top and the ones that go low down at the side of the seat box.

Thanks.

Norrie.

I can't send a photo but I can tell you that they mount onto the rear tub just behind each seat. There should be two holes just below the top capping. To mount them it should have a mounting plate which fits behind the holes. These attach with a 13mm bolt. The actual belt holder is mounted up above the seat on the side panel between the window and the door. If you don't have these parts you won't be able to fit the inertia reels. Have you got a parts manual?

They bolt in the channel behind the seat you may need to fit a spacer and use a longer bolt to clear the lip on the rear tub assuming you mean the reciever end for the belt buckle. The series 3 has a strengthener under the seat box which is bolted to the chassis for the fixings.
Pic from optional parts catalogue part 4 available via web search for smithies landrover brings up a NZ site of interest.

hi you can see the 2 brackets here that sit behind the seatbox, the seatbox has matching holes , I think the bolts are the same as the door corner brackets for fixing the end of the seal belt, thread is imperial size

Beware with the threads, it should be 7/16 UNF and you can get 7/16 UNF seat belt bolts and nut plates, but there are also M11 seat belt bolts (ie Mercedes) that look almost identical but have a different pitch.
