Seat belt passenger side

Hi

My seatbelt has locked on the passenger side, can't get it free what ever I do. So I ordered another from Ebay breaker only to have the same when that arrived.

Is this a common fault, can I do anything with them when they lock solid?

I've got a early 300tdi 1994 with seat belt attachments on the chassis not seats.

This happened to my 200tdi drivers belt yesterday for the first time! But after a short drive and parking it nose up a hill and a slight beating of the b post it fell back in to line and started working again!!!
