Question .. looking to take hard top off my series 3 and replace with full canvas , however it would appear that once removed i will lose my seat belt fixing as the pillar part comes away with hard top . Seatbelt is a three point ineria reel fixing . Is there a way to over come this problem ??

In the back of my old series 2, I fabbed some up from 80mm x 80mm RSA with a drilled plate (8mm) that spanned the tub corners at 45 degrees. You can see them in my pic.......

Many thanks .. looks good .. so the two bolts i can see is the bottom one fixing the ineria reel and the top one holding the shoulder part of the belt that i lose when i remove the hard top ?

your other option is to fit harnesses as they can bolt directly to the bulk head behind the seats.

my inertia reel seat belts aren't mounted on the pillars - they run over the rear bulkhead, with the top part below shoulder height - will see if I can get a pic at some point

you can get a after market bolt on bar that spans the length of the tub with loops on either side http://http://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/accessories/exmoor-trim/ext500-1-soft-top-seat-belt-mounting-baruse-with-belts-ext001-8-and-ext001-7.html

failing that what ive done with mine is as i dont have inertia real ive got period self adjustable belts just bolt them to the back of the tub, it means that the belt comes up to go over your shoulder but i just put up with that for the sake of looks.

Edit: for some reason the link aint working. heres a pic.
