Good morning guys and girls!

I've been looking all over for an old 110. It used to belong to my grandad years ago before he sadly passed away about 12 year ago. For the past couple of years I have been looking on here and other land rover forums to see if I could spot and messages about it to see where it might of ended up. I have recently been speaking to a member called carpyken that had previously owned the 110 and had done some great work on it (pics below) I'm just wanting to know if anyone else has seen anything of the car anywhere or maybe is the recent owner? I do keep looking on the DVLA taxed site and it is still showing as sorn. Any information would be amazing! Hope everyone is having a good day.

Luke

That's a really nice 110. Unfortunately i cannot help you locate it, however what do you want to come of this? Just to find out what's happening with it? Or do you want to track it down to purchase it?

Keep searching. One of my old motors is on eBay after 28years.
No I'm not going to buy it back as it looks nothing like I remember.
Good times
You can get registered keeper info from Dvla for a small charge.

Depending on the price I would like to purchase it, I've always wanted one
Good shout, would be nice to get it back into the family. It's also good for your/our age since it should be classic insurance shouldn't it? Nice and cheap. Looking at it though, just from the pictures you've shared it may cost a princely sum, not something i could justify however I understand wanting it back in the family though, both my grandparents and my uncles all had bronze green 2a's. Good luck finding it. Keep us notified!

I have tried the DVLA trace a few times but I keep getting the same response of 'we are unable to give you the details for data protection' unless you have any ideas how to get round this?

Well since it's got a SORN i would assume it's being used on private land/farm or is garaged. You mentioned contacting a previous owner? Could you potentially ask him who he sold it to and then follow the chain if it's been sold multiple times?

I'm guessing it will be classic insurance as I think now it will be 35 years old! Aye I will keep you informed mate, would be awesome being able to buy it.

I've asked him about it and he's unable to find any info about who he sold the car to but mentioned it could be in the Liverpool area

Just stick the reg into confused.com and see what it kicks out as a yearly cost. I got my 2a on a classic policy and it’s dirt cheap compared to the other car I drive.

No info at all? I suppose it depends how you sell it. If he sold it on eBay he would have emails. Regardless, hope for the best, would be pretty sweet if you get it. I’d be jealous. Would love a defender 110

I've been and seen carpyken and asked then and he had said he's tried to look for any info from the sale but is unable to find anything but on a plus side he has given me a painting he had done of the landrover before starting the restoration

very nice, that's a desktop background for you right there. all i have are my ****ty photos. Though hopefully i'll get a nice one soon. Sisters a professional photographer, so wants to pinch mine for some rustic wedding shots or something like that. Well, it would be cool if you find it, definitely not impossible, my godfather got his motorbike back. First had it in the 70s, tracked it down and has it again.

I've currently got it handing on a wall at home. If you don't mind, could you ask him how he managed to track it down? I've tried everything I can think of with the DVLA and got no where.

Hope you find it mate ,bet it would be fantastic to have it back in the family if you can.Dont know anything about searching for them but wish you all the best with it.Looked a beauty by the way

i've just found the original forum posts dated to 2005 from Carpyken. He mentioned replacing the chassis. That may void it of classic insurance, i'm not sure, you'll have to check it.

Let's hope Not! I've checked insurance for it and if only have to pay around 310 a year!
