Scared it into healing itself?

Evening all, just thought I would share a surreal experience.

I bought a very high mileage (220k) P38 GEMS with LPG conversion last September. The fuel gauge didn't work, it had to be started on a doorbell switch, there was an intermittent windscreen wiper fault, and the suspension had been switched to coil springs. It also looks a bit tatty, but still imposing.

I had to do the heater matrix o-rings a few months ago, and put cat litter under the footwell carpet to dry it out.

I had persistent issues with battery drain but otherwise it ran pretty well until recently. It kept struggling to start on the button, often leaving me sat for hours waiting for it to play ball.

Last week I left it parked for a few days and the battery died, completely drained. Not even enough charge to unlock properly. I charged the battery and tried again; refused to start or sync, and drained the battery again (battery is probably quite knackered now).

Tonight I put the jumper pack on it, tried to start it up and I got two dash lights I hadn't seen before: check engine, and air suspension lamp. Still refused to start on the button. Just as I was about to give up, I tried starting it on the key....and it fired into life! Not only that, the fuel gauge is now working!

Have I somehow revived a half dead BECM by sheer fluke?
