Ok, it's me again...

Towbar on the Freelander has two electric sockets; a white one and a black one, I'm not planning on towing and might even remove the tow bar, but why two?

Thanks Egor & Biggee (and ha ha; neither any use for someone who shaves his head).

If I was to remove the bar, any ideas where the wiring might be connected within the car?

lighting is wired into the loom behing the lights. electrics i think runs o battery, but not sure. Leave it on ther never know when need it

Black (road lights) goes to a connector behind the drivers side rear boot panel, it can just be unplugged from the cars wiring loom. The grey one will prob`ly be wired in to the car ignition circuit and to the battery via a relay etc, not so straight forward but not too difficult. Dunno why you would want to take the towing gear off though, people expect LR`s to be used for towing..and you never know when it might come in handy. It also takes a big part of the impact should you get rear ended in traffic...this has happened to me on two occasions, both times no damage whatsoever to my car but expensive damage to the front end of the other cars:D
