Hello all,
Just thought I'd pass on some positive news. When I purchased my latest RR the Satnav didn't work and had the White Screen of death. After much searching on the web and phone calls to various Satnav retailers no one would actually take a look at the unit and only advised replacing it with either another system or new/used Reader.
I found a gentlemen on the Bay who claimed to actually repair these units so after a few email back and forward with the repairer I decided to send my unit to him.
After a total of ten days (the repairer is based in Bucharest) I received the unit back and put it back in this morning. Started up the RR the unit appeared to power up, popped the Satnav CD in and the screen came alive with the menu.
Typed my destination and off we went. Satnav working perfectly
.
On the Bay I typed in Range Rover Mk3 Satnav repair (MK3 refers to the CD Reader from the boot).
The cost of the repair was £55.00 plus the Royal Mail track and trace which I felt was very reasonable and still far less than half the price of a used unit.
On another positive note the RR (2001 Vogue) is operating as it should with no issues and looking forward to winter.
Hopefully this may be of help to other owners who prefer their Rover to be original and working.
Regards
