Yes, the hippo came with the expedition rack on it.
They are quite heavy, load is around 65-70kg evenly spread although I have gone well above this weight.

They are noisey at speed......and there were shards of metal inside the tubes from the welding process. Every time you turned a corner it was like marbles rolling around in the roof rack.

I eventually angle grinded the top rail off, it was a real pain moving timber which didnt sit flush on the rack. Looks better too with just a single rail now. I also sealed up the tubes so the pieces of metal didnt roll about.

I also have the two separate roof bars, was thinking a cheap mod could be fabricated for an expedition rack using the upright side of a reduntant trolley cage, you know the one you see in supermarkets. or chucked in the nearest river.

Bottom line - they are useful but not worth £200 odd quid, they are made from cheap tubing with less than perfect welding, try to make a modded rack for a lot less money.

Normal Roof bars cun carry 100kg, so safari rating of 65-70kg sounds about reet due ta extra weight of safari itself.
