Safari or Mantec Snorkel

The Mantec is the one yer looking fer, and there be good reasons for that too. A lot of people think that you get better performance from the Safari cos it faces into your oncoming air and works like a ramcharger- blurry rubbish.
Thing is if you are going to be blasting around in the dust, your going to get dust in yer system like that.
The design of the Mantec means that it twirls the air entering the snorkel and the dust particles will drop before going down the pipe.
But in the UK i guess the rain sorta keeps yer dust on the ground.

I've seen the effects of driving snow at altitude on various bits of avalanche research kit (kit which effectively uses pipes like a safari snorkel facing the cardinal points to capture snow) where in certain conditions of temp and wet snow and wind the snow build-up fills the neck of the pipe intake and chokes the hole. I wonder whether the same thing is likely to happen in cold/wet/sticky snow conditions on your Land Rover? Anyone had this happen? Just curious.
