Hello, third time rover owner.....not sure if that makes me crazy or not. My 2002 LR Disco is very sick. It was starting only sometimes.....so I took it to my local mechanic who said it wasn't the starter and was all out of ideas (alot of help he was) and fellow LR Disco friend used some sort of diagnostic equipment and said he was 95% sure it was the body control unit which he suspected was around $3000. I was wondering if anyone had experienced a "body control unit" failure and what the symptoms might be. Thanks, I love my rover but I'm a girl who knows nothing about how to fix them :)

Im not sure about the discoveries, but on the L332 range rovers, the Body Control Modules ALWAYS used to give us grief before they even left the factory. From what i have read, they are really expensive to replace. Not sure about the 3k mark, but still very deer.

My first rover was a range....i loved it! but i crashed and it most likely saved my life....I'm worried that there are no competant mechanics in my area short of having it towed 100 miles away....I wish they fixed themselves.
