Just had a F1 in the workshop. Bad rumbling, vibration.

Wouldn't reverse in a turn. 1.2m bar and 5kg on the one wheel up test didn't move while I made and drank coffee!!

So, VCU and prop off. Looking for other damage. Garage had replaced a rear diff mount without worrying about why it had broken!!
IRD and Diff seem o.k.

Slack in front propshaft tripod joint. Took it apart to inspect and all the rollers had escaped into the grease!

You can now buy a refurb front kit to save buying a new propshaft.
New bearings, tripod kit and car is smooth, quiet and free and ready for the next 150k miles.
Worth checking if the VCU goes tight. A cheaper sacrificial component than the IRD or diff!!!

Just to update, fitted the repair kit today (listed above).
Brilliant !! Everything fits and the kit includes a new boot, the tripod and housing, the end cap, 2 gaskets to keep the grease in and even the moly grease to put inside !!
Oh, and a new circlip!
So - saves a new front propshaft.
