Hi
In torrential rain yesterday I noticed water streaming into the cab of my 300TDI by the foot pedals. A quick look outside revealed a nasty rusty area that I suspect I could push a couple of fingers right through if I tried ( photo attached ). There are further developing rusty areas along the sill above the air vents.

What should I do ? If it needs to be a bodge I'd prefer the best bodge possible !

Thanks,

Dave

As OSD says, cut out the rot and weld in new ....

Be prepared though, to chase the rot far and wide ....

Toolstation PU40 5 quid, dig out rust slap on the pu and spend the winter looking for another bulkhead and replace/fix it properly when the weather improves

After you fix the rusty areas, water will most likely still pour in.

The only way to prevent it happening is to park under cover during heavy rain. Or move to the Gobi Desert, where it hasn't rained for fifty years.

Thanks for your sage advice. Does anyone have any opinions on whether these types of parts would be a good solution as a complete bulkhead is a bit of a tall order :

There seem to be a few places manufacturing these.
They look like the sh*tty panels which you fit over the top of the existing rust, complete bodge. Get the proper weld-on panels from YRM, bit more work involved, but far,far better results.
