Rust Prevention (Dinitrol/Waxoyl) South Yorkshire

Hello,

I have a Defender 90 2013 and it's starting to get a little surface rust in the usual places around the chassis. I want to catch it early and have it treated and then protected, which leads to my questions:

• Waxoyl or Dinitrol? (Let the bickering commence)
• Any recommendations for treatment centres / people within 50miles or so of Sheffield? (As much as I'm fine with spanners and sockets, I really don't fancy laying on my back spraying black wax around my drive)

Not my neck of the woods, sorry.
Chose carefully, many cowboys in this game. Generally avoid 'do it in a day' merchants, after initial steam-cleaning the underside MUST be dry before treatment.

If you want the rust treated and prevented, then Dinitrol ..... BUT, your question is flawed as, there is another perfectly good product group out there, namely Bilt Hamber - IME ( lots ), they are equals.

As Norseman says - proper treatment is the key, and this requires proper preparation - I.E. neutralising the rust. Unless you have deep pockets, I seriously doubt this is available "off the peg". Remember, Proper Prep Prevents P*ss Poor Performance !

External rust is the least of your worries - in fact it is borderline irrelevant - tin worms burrow from the inside, and this is the part that needs the attention.

TBF, this topic has been done to death on here - do a search.....

Ive seen hundreds of rusty vehicles with these coatings on them, Ive seen none that have leaked oil onto the chassis.
