Went out to Blackpool last weekend, whilst going we developed a squeal that got louder. Seemed to be coming from the back of the engine. Stopping was a nightmare, it was if the clutch wasn't engaging which made the wagon judder to a halt. Setting off was also bad news as the clutch slipped until we got going. The wagon ran like an absolute dog juddered like mad and making lots of clunking noises.
I immediately thought the clutch was f*cked and booked an appointment to have it changed. Driving to work Monday to Wednesday was the same, but today it's back to normal and is a perfect drive - wtf?
Is it worth getting the clutch examined and changed or is it something more sinester?
My experience of intermitant problems is that when they return the problem only gets worse and costs more money to fix.
Any thoughts?
