running lumpy when cold, plugs & leads?

Hi Guys,
the car has always run a bit lumpy when cold since I got it, so I think it must be due a new set of plugs and leads, it seems to run fine warmed up, but i heard that running issues can ruin cats so I have a set of leads coming as already have plugs from a service kit I ordered before,
do I need to set a gap in the plugs or will they already be done? what gap is required if not set? and how the hell do I get to these leads!! is there a way to do it that makes it easier? it looks impossible especially for me and especially with the lpg system having pipes all over!,
not lookling forward to this at all! But I hope this will cure the slight lumpyness!

Mine runs bit lumpy when cold. Did plugs jast jan on mine. They were supposed to have been gapped correctly, but still checked them and they were almost. Cant remember what it supposed to be though. Always worth giving them a check. They are a pig to get to the rear ones. Especially the offside. Make sure you got couple extension bits and uj attachments. If you can get a plug socket with the rubber bit to hold the plug. Or a small bit of rubber hose. Do them one at a time, and do lead as you go.

I think you need to be careful about using plugs from a service kit. I bought a service kit once and it was made by Britpart. Now i'm not having a dig at them as I have a fair few reliable Britpart bits on my car however I wouldn't fit their spark plugs. If your P38 is a Gems then go and get the recommended set either Champion or NGK. Set the gap to 1mm. If you have a Thor then the plugs are different and wont need gapped.

The leads are not too bad to fit but not sure what complexity is introduced with the LPG. On the Gems model they are significantly easier to do compared to the Thor. Main thing is to do one at time and be prepared for lots of skin missing from your hands.

I have britpart plugs,,, surely they are going to be better than what's in it?! I can't really afford to buy posh ones, did you ever try the britpart ones? surely if they were that bad they wouldn't make them any more??!!

another quick question which way do I turn the nut to undo the fan as just found slack in the fan so going to do the water pump,,, more expense!! but I need to know for sure which way to undo the fan and how do i lock the pulley in place??
