2.5 na tithonus.
After driving up hill (ie laboured) when road flattens out and I back off throttle, the power surges for a moment, as if I suddenly had more power. It sometimes behaves a bit like running out of fuel even though it isn't.
Could it be the fuel filter?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Blocked fuel filter doesn't usually give more power! ;)

Is it a heavy breather?

Not particularly I don't think, although I don't know how I can tell.
With accelerator, most response comes from first 1/4 of travel. Pushing I down further usually gives it less oomph.

Remove cap on top of rocker box and start up, if there is oil fumes pouring out, you are on the brink of a diesel runaway.;)

If not change all filters, check tappets and intake hoses. If none of that helps, you may have an IP issue.

Could it just be the change from being over-fuelled (foot down for the hill) to a better air/fuel mix? I think I have something similar. In fact, I think my 2.25p was the same.
