did a day on the moors last week ,,the climb up the rigg from bank foot give me a good shaking. seems rockier than ever called at the lion for refreshment.. a good day out finished with the glaisdale ring..

I went up there last year an a basically standard D1 on road biased tyres, went straight up in one go much to my surprise after seeing it!

yea ,,road based or at,s are best for the climb plenty of rubber on the rocks ,, took a jimney up ,struggled with the clearance but it made it without damage, the driver was white (drained not racially) at the top ..

another great day yesterday took flask and sandwiches and had a good 6 hours on the moors, We normally take bbq but the wind was bitter ,dont mind subzero but the wind, bloody biting . good to see some lanes have been repaired and are now passable again, all in all someone is doing a great job wish i could have helped. I took a frontera up there two years ago and it lost its rear end (his own fault could have been avoided) anyway this lane is now an easy drive. No rain to speak of for a week, so the fords were passable the worst just a foot or so (thats about 30cms for you younguns) saw a couple of bikes when dropping into farndale from the rigg other than that not a soul.
