Put compressed air up it’s back passage(sealed with an old bike inner tube) and spray all along the exhaust with soapy water from a garden sprayer. If there are leaks there will be bubbles . Or get someone to hold a rag over the end of the exhaust with the engine running.

The site has been playing up since yesterday evening, just press refresh rather than keep pressing post its just going slow the hamster is on his last legs.

Hi guys, thanks for all the advise. Turns out the noise was the auxiliary belt tensioner, was moving back and forwards, and causing a rattle. The pulley was starting to stick, so now the job of trying to release the viscous fan nut
