Hi all - I have recently accquired a 1977 RRC 3.5 running and driving project with original Strombergs and hope someone can help me. I'm quite new to these and am mystified as to what this is and what it should be connected to if anywhere? The lower end comes from the LH carb and the open end does have vacuum when engine running. The ignition advance is connected seperately and works so it isn't that.

Many thanks.....Peter

Will look tomorrow and try to take a picture - thought I read somewhere about vacuum control of air temperature - ring any bells?

Never come across a 'fuel trap' despite owning four RRC's but then they have all been EFI
I have also owned a late 2.6 LR but that didn't have such a device, so I'm curious as to it's function.

Allegedly filters out water and crud. Sounds like it's fixing a problem that doesn't exist.
Yes you get water in petrol but I've never had it cause a problem. And regular filters/sediment bowls do a decent job

Right, so if it’s drawing vacuum, then best just to block off the open spigot for now? Maybe tidy it up properly at a later date (!). Always more to learn…
