Morning All !

I am about to ask the most open ended of open ended questions now.
So here goes..

How much ROUGHLY is it going to cost for a full respray?

The car is currently stripped right down, body off etc . All the panels are off and just the shell is left separate to chassis. I am aware the cost will be hugely dependant on panel conditions and the like but a general ball park figure will be appreciated .
Dependant on costs and what would be easier for the resprayers, the car could be delivered reattached to the chassis with engine in or on dolly wheels as a complete separate body (no chassis).
Also would it be preferred by prospective company’s to have the panels allready sanded back to bare metal and ready to be built back up and sprayed or would they prefer them to be left alone and then complete the sand down process themselves etc ?

If anyone had any experiences regarding RRC resprays then some general advice and experiences is appreciated.

I have a thread titled “Range Rover Classic LSE 93 restoration” if anyone’s interested to know more about what I am doing with this LSE.

Many thanks in advance and apologies if this question is so open ended it would be like pricing up a bridge to the moon !

Dan

Usually it’s cheaper to do the prep work yourself.

I had a quote for the 110 of around £2.5K, but that was an outside only spray job. I wanted a full colour change, inside and out.

Hi Dan - replied on the other thread too. Like mick says, MOST places will quote a lot cheaper prices if all the prep is done by you, as the time/materials is a smaller part f the cost, but thats assuming you can prep stuff up to your required standard. If your keeping the colour the same and the majority of prep is done by yourself id say £2k up to £5k would be a ballpark. Remember that an LSE is a big truck so qyuestion any quote that is very cheap as materials will be a few quid on their won. It also depends on what your expecting, a cheap blow-over or a perfect show car finish However the main advice would be to talk to other people in your area and the different places your thinking of using as sometimes a £5k paint job can look like a £500 job and vice versa. Recommendation/reputation counts for everything with paint, good luck
