- old,ugly, tired in Lincoln.
Fitted heated front screen in my 89 classic (worked quickly on mist, took few mins to start working on frost) and the auto dip mirrror (miss it on the p38) found wireing in haynes manual seem to remember one wire going to reverse lights for some reason.

As above. The reverse connection is to un-dim the mirror when going backwards. Not totally neccesary for operation.
