I have just recieved an all makes ign module which screws to the dizzy on a 3.5 efi. the old one has 2 pins, the new one has 3 pins numbered 1, 2,3. can I presume that pin 1 is live from the coil, 2 is to the coil & 3 is earth? Has anyone used one of these, I don't want to connect wrong & destroy the new module. Thanks.

I found this on another forum...

You need to make up a new lead, as the connectors are different.
The 3 wires are

coil negative, earth, and coil positive/live supply. (The 2 wire module earths through the distributor body.)

The same module is fitted to the Ford Escort etc. of about 1990 vintage, you could whip one and its lead out of a Ford.

Don't disconnect out the black/white lead that goes from the coil via the relay on the passenger side, by the air filter, to the ecu, or the fuel injection will stop.
