RR p38a exhaust

hi all, me again!! lol!

righty, i had the car on the lift to sort out the oil heamorrage it developed and decided to replace the rear of the exhaust as apposed to repair what i thought was a small-ish hole.

my problem is i cannot find an exhaust diagram to see if the section at the rear is standard or needs a silencer(hence the previous welding marathon that must have taken place) there is no silencer and a joint under the rear seat/loadspace area. i need the section from the joint to the rear of the car, currently no silencer on it but i suspect there should be one.

not sure, it doesnt look like the one i have, damn i will have to id the car properly(v5 currently at dvla) i will get back to you with a better id as i now am not sure what car it is!!!

If your profile is right and you do have a 96 4.0 petrol then the exhaust system shown above is correct for that year of vehicle. It was from 97 onwards that they changed to dual exhausts.

The pictures above are of each section from the parts catalogue, so you have the front section with the cat's on, then the middle section with the silencer and then the back section with a smaller silencer on. Some people remove the rear most silencer to get a louder V8 sound.

they have infact removed the rear silencer, so it is that type you posted!!

i had a quote from a local garage of £70 supply and fit, is that any good?

charlie browns want £140 for the same job.

of course i can fit it myself but if its only a tennaer extra for fitting they are welcome to it! save me getting dirty for once!
