RR P38 alarm not working, help please!

Hi Guys,

I have a 1998 P38 4.0 SE. The indicators stopped flashing when I locked or unlocked the car using the alarm fob, central working still works and the red led on the dash still works but the alarm isn't working, set the alarm then opened the door but didn't activate.

Any ideas on what it could be??

Ive just replaced the power sounder on mine does yours siren if the battery is disconnected? I wonder if the settings need checking in the BECM?

haven't tried disconnecting the battery but will do this to see if it sounds. Hoping its not the becm as had this replaced 2 yrs ago by the main dealer, wasn't cheap!!

why not try sitting in the car then using the key fob alarm/lock the car, stay still for 30 seconds then wave your arms around to see if it triggers it off.

yep i've tried that, didn't activate. can live without the alarm i suppose but would be nice to get it working again if it's not too expensive!!
