I had my 2004 RR diesel serviced by a main dealer a couple of months ago. It
went in with the outside temperature displaying C but came out showing
degrees F.
This gets on my tit and would dearly like to change it back. There must be
some sequence that I can use to do this. Can anyone tell us how? I can
easily change the trip computer information between metric and imperial but
the temp doesn't seem to be controlled by that system.

Huw,

It's under the "set" menu option. The same place you set the time, language
etc. There is an option there to change from F to C ;-)

Yes if you have the screen information and sat-nav system.
Perhaps I should have mentioned that I have, what is effectively, the pauper
pack edition. That is, it is the base model with the equivalent of the BMW
Business radio and information computer system, not equipped with sat-nav.
I'm sure there must be an easy way of doing it but it is not described in
either book.

It's a bind in'it .... On Percy I recall the outside temperature as
measured by the Bulkhead vents and door seals was either
"C C C C Cold" or "F F F F Freezing". On one trip after I forgot to
reinstall the door seals and got caught up in the Big freeze for hours
it was both.

The doors are meant to seal on a LR?

Err......thanks. I think........
Anyhow, it took over five years of use before my 110's vents bed in and
mated properly with the bulkhead seals so just maybe Percy is just too new.
There's a lot to be said for mild winters mind you. The point is though that
the temperature just has no meaning in the F style. Even at freezing point
[if we ever get that cold] it will be reading a distinctly hot 40 something.

Yes, that's it. Thanks very much to everyone and you in particular for the
correct answer. I shall now sleep at night because my wife will be
satisfied. It doesn't take a lot to have a quiet life ;-) In truth it also
annoyed me.
