So the old girl just reached 227k on the clock on my way to work this morning. Got me asking myself how many people are still out there with their original (old school ECU in your right foot) transmission that still works... Is everything nice and tight with yours, what mileage is it on and what have been your experiences over the years?
Only time I thought I had an issue with mine was when the kids had gone playing in the car whiles she sat in the garage and had kicked the transfer case lever into neutral. I got in, started it up, put into drive and nothing...
Almost peed my pants just sitting there shifting between the gears with nothing happening. My other 'expert' Land Rover owning friends had me draining and sampling the oil for bits and a burnt smell for hours until my old man moved the lever into gear and she lurched forward.... I still ask myself how I missed that
