I've replaced the coupling (genuine LR GKN part) successfully
. I took one look at the bushing inthe back of the rear proshaft and thought that'll never come out in a million years and I don't have oxy acetylene or a decent dremel and chisel. Besides I don't want to bugger up the prop. Neither does my local garage
. Land Rover dealers said if it's ok then leave it be just put some grease in there and bolt it all back up - it's more agricultural than a Disco 3.
There is a small amount of play when it was offered up to the diff. However the new bushing is really tight by contrast. Should I leave it as is? The vibration has lessened.. Anyone find this an easy job for them to do? I did not want to say to LR book it in and do it at 80 per hour or whatever they charge.
