Has anyone on here just fixed a roof tent straight to a roll cage on a 90? If you have how do you did you do it n any pics?

exhaust clamps? depends what the bottom of roof tent is made of and what brackets etc. could be attached.

Think its wood on the bottom, I'm assuming it's just as safe fastening straight onto cage as it would be onto roof bars?

My roof tent came with u bolts and flat plates which effectively are the same as using exhaust clamps except for the fact that the plate spreads the weight and causes less cutting into the bars than the exhaust clamps.

would they have been big enough to fit to a roll cage though? the one I'm after does come with the normal fixings but didn't know if they would fit my roll cage:)
ratty do you get plenty of use out of your tent?

My clamps will fit a roll cage.

I don't get as much use out of my roof tent as I'd like because I work every weekend. I'm hoping to try and start using it a bit more this year. My roof tent is a lightweight one so I can chuck it on and off the top of my landy as and when I need it. It doesn't have the option for a privacy room either so I have a caranex for that.

I'm looking at buying a second hand howling moon the 1.2 model the weight is 48kg i believe, was wondering how to get it up on top lol, I have a stand alone room type tent thingy which when I slept in the back of the landy I fastend onto the roll cage and the door opened into it, so gonna use that as a table area, my only concern is I'm a bugger for going to the loo through the night n not quite sure about going up n down ladders in the dark! When I'm camping I have a bog in the bag, but not sure that will work on a mattress that moves! So gotta suss that problem out lol

My missus is rubbish with ladders and she manages to get up and down ok in the dark to go to the loo.

I keep my tent bolted to a set of rhino roof bars. I can just slide the bars up the side of the landy and onto the roof and then add the ends/gutter mounts once it's up there.

I have a spare set of roof bars should I need to use em for summit else without unbolting all the U-bolts.

So you have it n on roof bars then mount it on the roll cage? I was looking to just mounting it straight onto the roll cage?
