I've got some of the Wolf Boxes (frogsisland4x4 - Home and others).
They are sturdy and stackable but pricy and don't seal completely so you'ld probably need to stow your kit in dust/waterproof bags inside the boxes. I'm not sure they can be securely locked either (I haven't tried to be honest).
By the time you add the cost of liners and the weight of the boxes on the roof I would have thought waterproof stow bags would be a better option.
Maybe a couple of boxes for sharp, heavy items inside the vehicle rather than on the roof?

i thought about wolff boxes, but decided they were too expensive for what they are (really just tough boxes, no seal etc) so i opted to go for eurosize boxes. they come in all sorts of sizes so you can customise them for the interior of your 90/110 or dare i say it 
your disco! i got mine through plastor:
Plastor containers and handling
on phoning them they said the euro crates were expensive because of their exact sizes, but they have their own range of grey boxes which are effectively the same. take a look.
I got 6 boxes of diff sizes from them with hinged lids and snap locks. put a bead of silicone around the rim of the hinged lid and they are fairly dust proof hopefully good enough for morocco! make sure you get the ones without handholes. these still come with a moulded handle groove of sorts.
if you measure the height of your rack and the space, you could get boxes to cover it making the most of the available space and maximising storage

PS. use peli cases for expensive equipment. ive got my DSLR and lenses in one. its great.

well im not taking any chances offroading with £1500 of camera equipment bouncing around in the back of the 90. I picked the smallest possible case too and just managed to squeeze the body and 3 lenses in
