Roof rails......

Hi,

I've just removed the roof rails from my 2004MY 3dr Freelander and have a couple of questions for you guys.

1) I have "exposed" mounting points on the roof, is there a stock plastic cover or similar for these points? Is there anything similar for the mounting points on the rear?

2) Can / Will rainwater get in now?

It shouldn't leak but the blanks are as easy to find as an honest politician...

for some reason when i put my rails on my 3 door i kept the blanks as i thought they would be rare

Gents,

The rails came fitted to the car, so I've never had the blanking caps or I'd have held on to them too!!

Dougden - sorry I'm keeping the rails in case I want to put them back on - I'm not sure what looks the best either if I'm honest.

I'm off to trawl ebay looking for the blanking caps and an honest politician - wish me luck.......

are the roof mounting the same as the 5 door if so put you bolts back in and that will stop the water hope this helps

I love the rails on look, but I understand that they have to come off to remove the roof and with summer on it's way............

Nope you can get the roof off without taking the rails off.
