Hi all, when its next dry im going to seal all the outside of the gutter to try and stop so much water getting in. I'm asking if anyone can explain to me how the roof and gutter joins together? I'm planning on running a bead of tiger seal all the way round the gutter but not sure how the actual gutter joins and where inside the gutter what bit to seal, not just fill the whole gutter with sealant! Any diagrams would be helpful, I've looked in the water ingress manual what ever its called and doesnt explain well. Hope this makes some sort of sense.

I'm guessing the roof panel sits into the gutter and then riveted down but as ive said im not sure at all. Thanks

I think you're right for an early roof, it is riveted down onto the gutter channel. Don't know how much, if any sealant is applied externally at the factory on these.
Later roofs (95 110 CSW in my case) appear to be 'stitched' to the gutter channel, then a pretty thick layer of sealant applied all the way round in the bottom of the gutter. Not all the way too the top mind, and the drain points are the rear corners (effective) and the front corners (very effective. At pouring water all down your leg when you open door).
While you've got the sealant out, don't forget the roof to screen joint, and the front corners where the bit of sponge has dried up or fallen out.
Hope this helps.

Yes thats great thank you. If I'm getting this correctly I will seal in each side of the gutter but still leaving a U shape channel for the water to run along. Then along the front seal.

Or should I seal the bottom of the gutter ontop of all the rivets about 5mm high? Leaving still the sides of gutter higher up?
