roof bars freelander II - removal

Hi I'm in the process of buying my 1st FL2 (2008 XS). It currently has roof bars (no sunroof) but I'm not sure if I want to keep them on. How easy is it to remove them / replace them as needed? If it's particularly difficult, I may get the dealer to remove them prior to handing over the car. Thanks for your help

remove the plastic covers, unbolt them, replace with plastic plugs silicone in threads and refit original covers which you won't have, or, ask the dealer to remove and restore to factory finish.

Is that all there is to it? I suppose if silicone is needed to seal the threads, it's not something you can put on and off quickly and repeatedly - maybe I will get them to remove them and find a home for them on fle-bay!
