Replaced all my rockers after having a top end ticking iv thought before I mite have had a cam shaft on its way out but when I did my head gaskets I did find one of the steel pads was breaking up so I new that wasn't good. I'm kicking my self for not replacing the rockers when I did the heads but there you go.
Symptoms were...
1) ticking constant warm or cold
2) no loss of power at all
3) ticking on driver bank sounded like x2 tappets x1 on passenger side
So before I went ripping out the cam bit of research I found the rockers a common problem with the push rod caps in the rockers wearing out so x16 new rockers bought and this morning I went delving in and replaced the lot.
I'm happy to report I have a very quiet engine no tapping/ticking at all
Worn steel pad
Dished badly and almost blocked oil way a few were like this
All fitted now time to do the drivers side bank
