Rock/Tree sliders

Sure thing Edlen. Before, during and after!

Got them fitted yesterday and theyr'e great.
They didn't go as flush as I thought and I had to trim the flanges slightly but this was fairly straightforward. I think I could have got them more flush if I had elongated the fwd bolt holes but they are so well made I didn't want to modify them too much.
They are a really good fit and no bodywork needed trimming at all. I just had to cut a notch in both front mud flaps and that was it!
I wet-assembled the front mounts with LPS (Corrosion preventer) and after drilling the rear mounts I wet assembled them (using M10 bolts and nyloc nuts) with etch primer.
All I could do with now is some skateboard, non-slip tape to stop people slipping if they use the sliders as steps!
I had soaked the sill bolts with 'plus gas' for days before but some of them still sheared as I removed them but I dont need them anymore so I don't care! I also had to use an 18" breaker bar to release the front mounts and thought they might shear but they survived.
I can definately recommend these sliders (From Richmond Shot Blasting or Rock-Slider) as they are very well made and fitted a treat. I did have to trim the flanges slightly but that is only so I could align them neatly. I didn't have to trim any bodywork at all and my photos show how neat a fit they are.
The only thing left for me to do is to matt black the edge of the floor pan that has been revealed by the sill removal and is visible between the bottom of the doors and the sliders.

Oh! I now have a pair of good condition sills that are free to anyone who wishes to collect them from Luton. They are used but OK.

Have you bought them from Richmond Stupot? If you have you won't be disappointed. I have hammerited the edge of the floor pan that is just visible beneath the doors and it hardly notices now.
Dont trim the flanges until you have offered them up and aligned them. I only trimmed mine to make sure they were aligned 'fore and aft'. I'm 'well happy with them and at £95 a pair they are good value.

Bloody hell! £13.67 for a roll of tape?! I have ordered a roll though BearDy so thanks for the steer.
SWMBO is already cheesed off as I am accessorising my 90 so the last thing I need is for her to bruise herself getting in or out.
The Boost Alloys (That feature in my photo) fetched over £500 so that should soften the blow for the tape and get me some more 'gucci' accessories like a Mantec snorkel!!

Is anyone still looking at this thread - if so, I have a question, which is probably going to make me look a ****, but here goes: I've got a set of these rock/tree sliders on order from Richmond Shot Blasting and I've taken the sills off in readiness to fit them. BUT, I can't for the life of me see where the tubular extension slides into the chassis on my 1997 110 Defender. Am I being a **** for not being able to spot where it is; or have I been a **** for ordering the wrong thing for my Landy

For a 110 - looking at Richmond's website, they only show one type for Defenders - and don't say if its for a 90 or a 110, so I assumed they would be the same for both apart from the length. Do you think the 110 versions would have a different mounting arrangement?

110 version will be longer and mounts differently, usually bolts/brackets front and rear plus a bracket in the middle that fits around chassis. No tubular attachment on 110

Was having a Google around for suggestions on which Sliders to get and discovered this, there up to 100 quid a side now but going to order some on Monday

I know this is an old thread but these look ideal question is
CanI still keep the side steps with these fitted, or do they make the step redundant.
Only asking as she wife is quite short and needs the step to get in
