Hey guys.

Officially got it dirty today. (and well and truly stuck )

Some pics. Waiting for my friend to send me the rest of em.

Took 3 landies to pull me out of that. :D

Some rescuing of my own. :)

All in all a very good day. Definitely need mud tyres the a/t's don't quite cut it. But still went a lot of places I didn't think it would! :D

Cheers :)

Hello again. :)

Time for another update.

Earlier in the week I stripped out the rear seats and some of the lower parts of trim. And generally making sure the boot floor was sound and painted/rust proofed before I commenced to make this. :D

Well that's how far I've got in the few hours I have of daylight from when I finish work.
Needs a fair bit more doing before its finished including some Ali chequer plate strips and upholstery.
It almost covers the entire rear floor area for which reasons will all become clear very soon. :p

Hoping to have it finished (well almost anyway) by the end of the coming weekend. Still need to buy and sort out a few other things planned for it too.

So will update as I make progress. :)

Cheers.

Nice project you've got going!

Why the decision to remove ABS? Love the chassis freshing and rebuilt axle... Do mine please? :p

But whyyyy... diesel. :(

Thank you. Good to hear you've enjoyed it thus far.

Abs.... Well it wasn't working. Couldn't be arsed to fix it. So removed it and fitted sexual braided lines throughout instead :D This disco will mainly be a toy so kinda seems pointless having abs.
I could do your axles I quite enjoy rebuilding axles for some strange reason. got 2 more in the garage I'm currently rebuilding as spares :p

And yea......... It's a dieseasel :( was hoping to find a V8 but this one came along at the right time and the right price so couldn't turn it down really. :)
May do a cummins 6bt conversion to it yet........

This makes me very happy. Disco being used properly.

This makes me intrigued as to what your making. :)

:D well it's what I bought her for. ;) to get her muddy and possibly break her occasionally :D

Err....... See below....... :p

Bed with storage!

Whadda I win? :D

Got it in one that man! :p Well done. :) Few other plans for it too but yea pretty much. :)

The prize is a half eaten kitkat chunky with fluff and dirt that's accumulated in my work bag over the last few years stuck to it. And......... The open beer that's been sat on my workbench in the garage for God knows how long with most likely various things floating in it. :D

Anyways.......

Tonight's efforts in the dark.

Still needs upholstery done but gives you an idea of what's happening. Amp and all wiring is inside. Need a decent sound system for listening to metal. Sounds very wrong listening to Metallica loud on the crappy standard disco speakers.

Also hoping to mount a 3rd battery in the space along with an air compressor and air tank.

More to come at the weekend. :)

Cheers

Woo yeah!! I'll pm you my address now :D:D :behindsofa:

With a sub like that, a bit of Royal Blood turned up to 11 would sound .....AWESOME

+1 I had to fit my sub in the disco to allow me to appreciate my metal. :D Every landy ive ever owned has sported a slayer sticker on the rear window :amen:

And iron maiden.

And too right to listening to maiden and slayer LOUD! :D Tis da only way to play it! :p

On the plus side you'll be able to hear me coming from a mile away now. It's pretty loud!

Just need to replace the tweeters in the front doors for some decent speakers and she's sorted sound wise. :)

Oh and.......

Looks 10 times betterer! :D

Hey guys. Nothing much happening to the disco atm (lack of funds until pay day:()

So Officially bored........ Great way to spend a Sunday morning with a grinder! :D

Building a spare HD front axle just cos. :p

May even give the spare rear axle case I have the same HD diff pan treatment.

Also thinking of adding some bracing to both axles along the axle tubes.

Then making some sort of skid to attach to the rear diff to protect it and the rear prop uj.

Once I get some more steel I'll also be looking to build a winch bumper and HD rear bumper. :)

Cheers.

Really enjoyed reading the thread mate. Looking really good and a lot of hard work put in. Considering getting a couple of 6x9s for mine, think this might have just convinced me.

Thanks mate.:) Really glad you've enjoyed it. :)

Has been a lot of work but has been worth it. Although still lots more I want to upgrade/change ;)

As for the 6x9s. Go for it! They make the sound quality so much better over the standard speakers. The sub and amp is optional (and overkill) but worth it in my opinion. It's sooooo loud! :D

Hey all. :)

Another update.

Finished work early today and decided it was finally the time to sort the side exit exhaust. :)

So pics. :)

Tis a bit louder than I thought it would be but with the music going you can barely hear it!:D

Just need to black the lettering and it's done. :)

May put a centre box back on it yet. Will see how it is over the next week. :)

Cheers.
