and the following year

the rates for the dsco are just as weird thats for a 2.5 Td5 ES 7 seat

1 Nov 1998 – 1 Mar 2001£101.75£185.001 Mar 2001 – 1 Nov 2003£115.50£210.00
the following year

1 Nov 1998 – 1 Mar 2001£101.75£185.001 Mar 2001 – 1 Nov 2003£242.00£440.00

The increase is a discrace for some of landrovers in the range !!

Utter outrage beyone words. They'll keep taking our money untill they controll where all of it goes and thats knowen as COMMUNISM.

just glad i got an R reg disco, so at least the vehical extortion duty is a bit cheaper

yup that why im not buying a newer one..... hopefully the price of pre 2001 cars will incease.........i bet my freelander will be worth at least hundred quid now wh hooo.

There were several posts on the subject after the budget scoti don.t matter anyway. I think the general concensus is that the govt are a bunch of robbing bastards that are using the current hysteria about the environment as a lame excuse to screw as much money out of everyone as they can. Vehicle users are an easy target cos they've got us over a barrel and they've managed to hoodwink a significant proportion of the population into believing the bull**** they put out about greenhouse gasses etc therefore ensuring support for their extortion.
We've got enough trouble with the oil price situation without gordon and his mates shafting us as well.

Agreed ^^^ !! my freelander is off the road cause the the ****wits that run the country say the misses aint entitled to a bean (she has blood clots in her lungs and legs and cant genuinly work) i need a car for work and the misses has loads of hospi appointments and with the spiraling cost of things i cant afford to tax it

Makes me laugh seeing people driving the hybrid toyotas and micro sized cars; think theyve saved to world. I like the way they turn up there nose at me at the traffic lights. Ignorant muppets are the governments puppets! Hey that rhymes...

What I fail to understand is if I travel 5,000 miles anually in my TD5 and get robbed of £400+, how come someone with a smaller vehicle just as polluting can drive 60,000 miles and pay less tax. How does that save the planet. Lot of ****e lets shaft the workers of the country for more of their cash, so we can all get free TV licences and such like, oh and free tickets to every sporting event, music concert or charity gig going, well done the Labour government. What was their song when they came to power - Things can only get better - wonder what happened or did they miss a line out 'For asylum seekers and those who don't pay their way'
