Freelander 1 Rivnut size

Hl fitting some side steps... Anyone know the rivnut size for the pre drilled hole

M6 look to me. But must be threaded also 8x needed. Why not buy 8x my and 8xm8. The bolts are my surprisingly. Could be wrong... next week will have to replace mine with high tensile.

I will check them tomorrow. My point is why not get both and see on the spot? They are very cheap

Cat69, the others are right, basically fit as big a rivnut as you can get the bolt through. From experience I've stopped using alloy rivnuts as they cause really bad gavlavnic corrosion (di-metallic reaction), I use steel ones or brass ones now. Steel is my preference as, well, its overengineering the heck out of things brass is if I cannae get a decent tool in about the task. And the guys are right, they are pennies a piece, get a couple of dozen of both sizes, and see what works best. But once you use them, even just once, you are converted to them, the ammount of stuff I now rivnut that before I would drill and tap or weld a nut onto is astonishing.
