Got meself one of them rivnut things. Never seen one before utill using it at work a year ago. Fantasic bodging tools. :D

Not enuff room to drill the hole out to 16mm so I'm gonna drill a hole in from underneath and use a long range socket to hold the bolt in place til I've tightened it up!
Apethy has set in and I'm going belt and braces on the mofo.

I bought some m12 stainless steel thinking they wouldn't rust. Used em to replace captive nuts for holding me sump guard. Couldn't squeeze the rivnut tool. Hands not big enough. Thinking I was clever I used a trolley jack to push up the handle with the other handle wedged with wood against ma hippo. Jack lifted ma hippo via the rivnut tool untill the weight on the suspension reduced.

got an air opperated one ;) handy as my dad was cheif disgner and manufacturer for avdel textron that used to make them ;) great things

Great idea, just aint can't justify spending £300 putting one rivnut in!

And no room to get at it ;):D

Stainless is extremely tough stuff I swage threaded bar onto wire rope and it's a bastid.
Good job you had enough jacks to do the job Hippo :)
