Hi all, apologies, did several searches but did not get anything back.
I had a suspected faulty MAF so cleaned it without any joy.I disconnected the MAF and got loads of torque and revs again, I bought a replacement Bosch one with housing and whilst disconnecting the pipe from the old housing the pipe cam off. I pushed it back on by going under the car and fitted new MAF. I now still have the same issue (absolutely no power - car hardly moves even with foot flat down).
Is there meant to be some sort of gasket or clamp by the bottom of the engine or does it just push fit as is extremely loose?

Disconnected MAF and it runs fine (power wise) however the turbo seems to be working overtime. Is this the turbo intake hose and the reason the MAF kills off revs is lack of airflow due to the loose pipe? I have tried getting it back on but seems extremely loose :-( Any help or advise would be very much appreciated please.

Could cause a bother with it getting more air than the sensor is reading, however I would expect it only to affect it when higher revs or higher load, I would get it plugged into a computer, it will be able to show a real time display of what the sensor is reading, does it put a
Iight on?
 
With the MAf disconnected it normally puts the ecu into a default mode. it could be a issue with other sensors which when you disconnect the MAF just bypasses the other sensors.
It can be a real pig to find the error, running live data may help.
 
There's a grommet fitted to both ends of the pipe from the air flow meter to the turbo.
A MAF sensor would have been cheaper and easier to fit than the complete air flow meter.
Could also be the new part is faulty,
 
the intake pipe is loose I do not know why they never put a clamp on to hold it in place when its off you will get the whooshing sound
 
The grommet at the base of the air cleaner mounting pipe had cracked and was allowing the turbo to suck in more air that the MAF meter was reading. ECU error read showed up nothing, however MAF meters going faulty do not always flag up.

Trying to source a new grommet from dealers, however worrying that this is push fit and not some form of clamp as is at the top by the MAF housing. May look into a form of clamping.

Tried out an extremely tight 4 ply silicon pipe that fitted the turbo intake and the rigid pipe (with a bit of force) and hey presto...
May be worth anyone checking first if a garage states their MAF meter is faulty.

I tried to get a sensor rather than the entire piece, but did not want an after market made in Taiwan or China, so unfortunately was all that was available at short notice, but lesson learned and a bit more of the air supply within the FL learned from experience.

As an after thought, anyone after a MAF meter that probably is still good in West Yorkshire is welcome to the old one FOC, but without any warrantee :)

Ooops, not that way. Do you know anyone who can pick up? If not, could post if you pay charges. I do not know if smoke on start up is MAF. Have you checked your glow plugs / relay and injectors?
 
done full service new glow plugs new ECT, injectors are going to be replaced just needs to be sometime next year as recovering from Crimbo lol
